Information Request – Local Advisory Committees
I refer to your official information request dated 29 November 2021 asking for information on Fire
and Emergency’s Local Advisory Committees (“LACs”). You asked:
“May I kindly ask if there is any further updates on this and any timeline been set. You previously
response mentioned
‘We will be evaluating the establishment of the first seven LACs before setting up the remaining
LACs. The evaluation is planned for 2021 and we will be incorporating the findings from the
evaluation into future plans for establishing LACs across the country.’
May I ask if the evaluation been completed or not and what’s the updates on the evaluation. Can
you release the evaluation report if it has been completed?”
Fire and Emergency New Zealand has received
the Formative evaluation of Local Advisory
Committees Report (Report) about LACs prepared by independent evaluator Litmus Research and
Evaluation. Fire and Emergency will be making the Report publicly available. As such, we have
made a decision to decline your request for a copy of the report under section 18(d) of the Official
Information Act 1982, as the information requested will soon be publicly available.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
