I refer to your email of 30 November 2021, in which you request the following under the
Official Information Act 1982 (OIA):
Please provide me with all communications to and from Air New Zealand regarding
engineering work it did for Saudi Arabia from January 2019 to October 2019.
Following consultation with the relevant teams, we can confirm that the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and Trade (the Ministry) had no communication with Air New Zealand concerning
engineering work and Saudi Arabia in the period specified. As no communications exist, your
request is accordingly refused under section 18(e) of the OIA.
For your reference, the outcome of the Ministry’s review into the broader matter you refer to
was published on the MFAT website in March 2021, and can be viewed online at:
