OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST 21.74 Christopher Luxon Master of Commerce 
I refer to the Official Information Act (the Act) request dated 30 November 2021 for information relating to 
Christopher Luxon’s Master of Commerce. You have requested the following: 
Could you please confirm that Christopher Luxon graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Master of 
Commerce? 
 
If so, could you please make his Master's dissertation or thesis available through your library website/research 
depository? 
 
Graduation information, including name and award, is public information. Mr Luxon graduated with a Master 
of Commerce Second Class Honours (Division One) on 6 May 1993. 
 
The University does not hold a copy of Mr Luxon’s written material from that time. This is on the basis that the 
University is not require to retain this information under the Public Records Act 2005. The information is 
refused under s 18(e) of the Act, as the information does not exist, or despite reasonable efforts to locate it, 
cannot be found. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about
