Dear Miss Rain
We refer to your information request dated 8 December 2021 made under the Official Information
Act 1982. You have requested information regarding admission to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy
(BPhty) programme via the Two or More Years of University Study category.
We note we contacted you 10 December 2021 to clarify whether you were interested in receiving
the information for Single Programme Preference applicants or General applicants. Your response
confirmed that you were interested in receiving the information for Single Programme Preference
applicants.
We set out our responses to your questions below.
How many applicants were waitlisted for the BPhty programme for the years 2021, 2020
and 2019?
For Single Programme Preference applications received in 2019 for entry to the 2020 BPhty
programme via the Two or More Years of University Study category, no applicants were waitlisted.
For Single Programme Preference applications received in 2020 for entry to the 2021 BPhty
programme via the Two or More Years of University study category, 10 applicants were waitlisted.
Final numbers for the 2022 BPhty programme are yet to be confirmed. This includes final waitlist
and admission numbers under the Two or More Years of University Study category. The School of
Physiotherapy will have final data for 2022 entry available in March 2022 once the last date to enter
the programme has passed. We wil provide the information that you have requested once the
School of Physiotherapy has confirmed these numbers.
How many of those waitlisted for the BPhty programme were offered a place to the BPhty
programme in 2021, 2020 and 2019?
Of those students waitlisted in 2019 for entry to the 2020 BPhty programme via the Two or More
Years of University Study category for Single Programme Preference, no applicants received an offer
to the BPhty programme (this was not applicable as there were no applicants on the waitlist).
Of those students waitlisted in 2020 for entry to the 2021 BPhty programme via the Two or More
Years of University Study category for Single Programme Preference, no applicants received an offer
to the BPhty programme.
As noted above, the University’s School of Physiotherapy has not yet confirmed final numbers for its
2022 BPhty programme. Therefore, we are not yet able to confirm data in relation to the number of
offers made to applicants on the waitlist via the Two or More Years of University Study category for
Single Programme Preference. We wil provide the information that you have requested once the
School of Physiotherapy has confirmed these numbers.
What was the lowest GPA of the applicants who were successful in being accepted from
the waitlist in 2021, 2020 and 2019 for the BPhty programme.
As no applicants received offers from the waitlist to the 2020 and 2021 BPhty programmes via the
Two or More Years of University Study category for Single Programme Preference, there is no
minimum GPA for successful waitlist applicants.
As noted above, the University’s School of Physiotherapy has not yet confirmed final numbers for its
2022 BPhty programme. Therefore, we are not yet able to confirm data in relation to the minimum
GPA of applicants who received an offer from the waitlist to the 2022 BPhty programme via the Two
or More Years of University Study category for Single Programme Preference. We can confirm this
information once the School of Physiotherapy has confirmed these numbers.
We trust that this information will be helpful. As noted above, we will be in touch with regards to
the requested 2022 data once this data has been confirmed.
Yours sincerely
