I refer to your official information request which was partial y transferred from the Ministry of Health
to Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission on 25 January 2022, where you asked the fol owing
information in relation to Dr Ashley Bloomfield:
“Please supply any and all perceived or actual conflicts of interest that you may have in completing an
effective pandemic response”.
Information being released
The Public Service Commissioner is responsible for the appointment of Public Service Chief
Executives. In 2018, Dr Ashley Bloomfield was appointed to the position of Director-General of Health
and Chief Executive, Ministry of Health.
Please find enclosed a copy of the declaration of interest completed by Dr Ashley Bloomfield, when
he was appointed to the role of Director-General of Health and Chief Executive, Ministry of Health.
