EXTENSION FOR YOUR INFORMATION REQUEST 
 
Thank you for your email of 28 December 2021, in which you requested, pursuant to the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the fol owing information: 
 
Has the MoD or NZDF ever purchased or possessed any form of Directed Energy 
Weapons/Microwave Weapons? If so, please cite them by their patent number(s) 
 
In order to provide the information you have requested, it is necessary to consult other 
agencies. Therefore, I am extending the time for providing this information by 10 working 
days, to 1 March. The Ministry of Defence wil  endeavour to respond sooner if possible. 
 
Under section 28(3) of the Act you have the right to request the Ombudsman to investigate 
and review this extension.
