Good morning Colin
Our comms team are putting up a Linkedin post regarding Robbie’s trip to China for the Ease of
Doing Business conference.  Robbie wanted you to be aware of this and to confirm that MFAT are
comfortable with this and the wording Robbie would like used.
I look forward to hearing from you
Regards – Emma

Hi Jo
I’ve made some changes to the wording of the post as follows:
under
“LINZ's Deputy Chief Executive Strategy and Stewardship, Robbie Muir recently presented at the
'Improving the Business Environment for a More Dynamic Economy of China and the World'
Conference in Beijing, jointly hosted by the World Bank and the Chinese government.
Robbie's presentation
Released  outlined how Landonline and related reforms have improved the property
system in New Zealand and contributed to our high ranking in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing
Business report.
The role of digital technology as a key enabler for improving regulatory systems was a common
theme at the conference and there was considerable interest in the high level of automation
we’ve been able to achieve for property registration in NZ.”
I’d suggest we use the following quote to go with the photo instead of the 3D stuff:

“The conference was a great opportunity for jurisdictions to share how they’ve improved their
Ease of Doing Business rankings by streamlining regulation and through the innovative use of
technology.”
As it’s being shared externally I’d like to let MFAT know that we’re going to post this. I’ll let you
know once we’ve done that.
Thanks
Robbie

Hi Robbie
The Digital team have sent this back as draft wording for a LinkedIn post, along with a quote and
photo of you - in the attachment.
Please let me know if you’re happy with it as it is, or if you want any changes/additions.
Thanks.

Hi both

Further to our discussion earlier this morning, Robbie is happy for us to publish a
LinkedIn post based on the story I’ve put on inLINZ this morning. http://inlinz/news/linz-
work/sharing-our-knowledge-china
I’ve had a first bash at a draft, removing any mention of other agencies – as I presume
we’d need their sign off too.
Robbie hasn’t seen this draft, so once you have made changes etc, send me back your
updated version and I will send it back to Robbie for sign off.
Jo
Draft Linked in Post
Our DCE Strategy and Stewardship, Robbie Muir recently made the long journey to Beijing to
present at a conference jointly hosted by the World Bank and the Chinese Government,
Improving the Business Environment for a More Dynamic Economy of China and the World.
Robbie showcased the improvements that reforms have meant for the property system in New
Zealand. While China obviously operates on a far larger scale than New Zealand, the focus on
technology as a key enabler for system improvement is shared.
Delegates were impressed with the digital transformation of our system and the future 1982
developments still to take place. There was considerable interest in the high level of automation
we’ve been able to achieve for property registration in NZ.
“There’s also a lot we can learn from China particularly in regard to their innovative use of digital

technology for 3D modelling of property, the built environment and infrastructure” says
Robbie.
