Thank you for your email of 17 January 2022 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry)
requesting the following information:
- Al raw data (excluding names etc) from rounds one and two of the community
consultations. The surveys that our community submitted.
- Al reports prepared for the Ministry by external contractors in relation to the
consultation process. ie. Gabrielle Whalls reports.
- Al correspondence, including emails between MOE staff, contractors and Rolleston
College BOT and/or management, relating to the Rolleston zone secondary school
procurement, management, land purchasing and consultation.
- Al information and correspondence regarding the purchase of the land for the new
campus.
- Al secondary research undertaken by the Ministry across NZ and globally regarding
the advantages and disadvantages upon young people of the creation of large
schools.
- Al minutes from meetings, recommendations, white papers and communications to
Ministry teams and Minister pertaining to the new Rolleston College Campus.
- Al information and communications regarding the initially planned stage 2 of the
current Rolleston College campus.
- Al financial information concerning the 'establishment budgets' allocated to the
current Rolleston College and the new campus.
- Al financial and planning information relating to the promotional video made for
Rolleston College for round 2 of the consultation. Who requested this video to be
made, what was the brief given and how much did it cost the taxpayer?
On 2 February 2022, you agreed to amend the scope of your request below:

The Ministry needs to extend the timeframe of our response to your request, pursuant to
section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, as consultations necessary to make a decision on the request
are such that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit. You can now expect to receive a response to your request on or before
30 March 2022.
You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to investigate our decision to extend the
