Thank you for your email of 26 January 2022 asking for the fol owing information under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the ‘Act”):
I noted you have a nomination service
May I ask how is your process of nominating people and how many people registered
within your registry. Also, how many people you have successful y nominated to a
position from the past two year (2021 and 2020), may I have al the name of successful
applicant and the position they have been successful on.
If possible, may I also get the list of positions that you have nominated people to from
your registry in the past two year.
Also, the org chart for your nomination service team too, please include the name and
title.
The Ministry for Ethnic Communities (the Ministry) maintains a database of candidates from
ethnic communities who have registered their interest in being nominated to roles on State
sector boards and committees.
As board roles become available, the database is used to identify potential candidates who
meet the criteria for the role. Depending on the appointment process, the Ministry either
forwards the candidate’s details to the agency requesting nominations, or contacts
candidates and encourages them to apply directly for the role and then endorses their
application.
As of 23 February 2022, there are 224 candidates registered on the Ministry’s Nominations
Service database.
Between 2020 and 2021, the Ministry has successful y nominated four candidates to four
boards. A list of individuals that were appointed fol owing a nomination from the Ministry is
attached as Appendix A.
The Ministry has interpreted your request of positions that we have nominated people to, as
to which State Sector Boards and Committees we have nominated people, in the past two
years. Appendix B lists the State Sector Boards and Committees that recommendations were
made to between 2020 and 2021.

Final y, your request for an organisation chart for the Nominations Service team is refused
under section 18(e) of the Act, as the document requested does not exist.
However, the Nominations Service is administered by the Services team within the
Community and Partnership business group, and it is managed by Joanna Arnold, Project
Manager.
