Thank you for your email of 1 February 2022, asking for the fol owing information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
1.
a detailed list of ALL covid vaccine injury claims grouped by age and injury type,
2.
a summary of the total number of vaccine injury claims for all vaccines grouped by year and
vaccine name starting between Jan 2018 and Dec 2021 and
3.
a list of how many covid vaccine injury claims are approved, rejected and still waiting processing
including the day the claim was first lodged with ACC.
ACC COVID-19 vaccine injury data published online
We have recently published the current COVID-19 vaccine injury data on the ACC website:
https://www.acc.co.nz/assets/oia-responses/covid-19-vaccination-claims-refresh-february-2022-
IPA5768-2.pdf. This data includes a breakdown of COVID-19 vaccine injury claims grouped by age and
injury type for claims lodged with ACC between 18 February 2021 (when New Zealand began COVID-19
vaccinations) and 5 February 2022. The data also includes data for the number of approved COVID-19
injury claims, the number of declined COVID-19 injury claims, and the number of COVID-19 injury claims
still being processed. Please note that the data on the ACC website is updated on a monthly basis.
Because we make this information publicly available on our website, this is a technical refusal under
section 18(d) of the Act which relates to information that will soon be, or is already available publicly.

ACC vaccination data
Please see the attached data set (Reference IPA-5273) which provides data for vaccination injuries up to
5 December 2021, as per your second request. This data includes a breakdown of vaccine injury claims,
including COVID-19 vaccine injury claims, lodged between 1 July 2005 and 5 December 2021.
