I refer to your official information request dated 6 February 2022, in which you ask for the 
following information: 
1.  The number of households paying a targeted rate for the green waste collection 
service in the 2021/22 year. 
2.  The amount of rates collected for the green waste collection service on the 2021/22 
year. 
3.  The amount paid to collect the green waste and make it into compost. 
 
The information you requested is provided below: 
1.  There are 4,643 rating units being charged the targeted rate for the green waste 
collection service.   
2.  Hutt City Council has forecast that $442,225 will be collected from the green waste 
collection service in the 2021/22 financial year. 
3.  The cost of collection and processing, to 31 January 2022, was $203,843. The 
forecast cost of the service as at 30 June 2022 is estimated at $478,112.  Costs for 
collection depend in part on the volume of material collected.
