Extending the time to respond to your request made under the Official Information Act 1982
Thank you for your email
of 7 February 2022 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
On Sunday 6 February and Monday 7 February large numbers of vehicles have travelled
from the top of Te Ika a Maui and the southern most part of Te Waipounamu, with more
vehicles joining them along their route, which will finish at Parliament in Wellington
tomorrow.

Please provide all information held by NZTA that relates to cameras and the
convoy/protest, including
- all internal correspondence or records of any discussions
- any correspondence with any Minister or official in any minister’s office; and/or
- any correspondence with other government departments
Please also provide all information held by NZTA about every camera outage that
occurred during the period 1 February 2022-8 February 2022, inclusive. This should
include, but not be limited to:
- the start and end time of each outage by camera
- the duration of each outage for each camera;
- any records with an initial indication or finalised view on the cause of the outage
- any remedial steps taken or contemplated to avoid recurrence of the outage.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is extending the 20 working days available to us to respond to your
request. This is allowed for under section 15A of the Act. We need seven more working days to
respond to your request. We will send you our response on or before 16 March 2022.
We are extending the deadline because we need to consult others before we can decide how to
respond to your request. It will take us more than 20 working days to thoroughly respond to your
request.

Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to
extend the time we will take to respond to your request. You can find the contact details for the
