Thank you for your online request dated 08 February 2022 requesting information regarding 
an incident that occurred in Whangarei.  You requested: 
 
“I am writing to request the fol owing information under the Official Information Act: 
On Monday 17 January 2022 in Whangarei, a man al eged to be Brad Flutey was tasered by 
a male who was neither wearing any Police uniform nor carrying any tactical appointments.

Wil  the police please confirm with a yes or no answer if the male carrying and subsequently 
using the Taser is a sworn constabulary member.” 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982.   
 
We confirm the male who used the taser is a sworn constabulary member of the NZ Police 
Northland District.
