Tēnā koe Sarah,
Response to your request for official information
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health (the Ministry) on 10 February 2022. Please find a response to each part of your request
below.
I ask that the information be presented in the form that it had been made publicly available
until yesterday, 9 February 2022:
CONTACTS
- Number of active contacts being managed (total):
- Percentage who has received an outbound call from contact tracers (to confirm testing
and isolation requirements):
- Percentage who has returned at least one result: 68%
Information has been provided to you in the table below for the period of your request up until
the move into Phase 2 of the Omicron response on 15th February 2022. At Phases 2 and 3, the
National Investigation and Tracing Centre is no longer actively managing Close Contacts, with
the result that there is no meaningful data for the metrics requested from the start of Phase 2.
From 15th February, we discontinued making outbound calls to identified contacts affecting
Column 3:
‘Percentage of active contacts who received an outbound call from contact tracers’.
Furthermore, the self-registration of Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) results means we do not have an
accurate record for the
‘Percentage of active contacts who have returned at least one result’
(Column 4,).

WASTEWATER

whether a wastewater result is expected, but they can provide information on when SARS-CoV-

regarding detections of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater for 8 February until 14 February. ESR also
publishes wastewater testing results, with a slight delay, at the following link:
www.esr.cri.nz/our-expertise/covid-19-response/wastewater-testing-results/.
The Ministry has information regarding COVID-19: Wastewater testing available at the following
