[FYI request #18599 email]
DOIA 2122-1639
Dear John
Thank you for your email of 18 February 2022 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and
Employment (MBIE), requesting under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) the following
information:
“I would like to request Specimens for evisa and visa label in all visa types, including the
citizen endorsement. I would be great if the specimens are in high-resolutions.”
Our response
An eVisa is an electronic record of a visa that has been issued. Examples of printed eVisa letters
are available here:
https://www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us/our-online-systems/applying-for-a-
visa-online/immigration-online/evisas Appendix One contains a sample of a blank physical visa label. Note that all the information
contained in the visa details section of a printed eVisa letter is captured on the physical visa
label.
High resolution copies of visa labels for all visa types are withheld under section 6(c) of the Act
as it would likely prejudice the maintenance of the law. We anticipate releasing that type of
material would assist those attempting to create fraudulent immigration documents.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of the Ministy’s
response to your request, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. Information about how to
make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request or this response, please contact
[email address] Yours sincerely
