Information Request –Dixon Street Flats incidents
I refer to your official information request dated 15 April 2022 asking for the following
information
:
…The number of incidents attended by FENZ staff at the Dixon Street flats (134 Dixon Street) in the
months of March 2022 and April 2022
The reasons for these incidents
The cumulative OPEX costs relating to these incidents.
Your request has been assessed in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). Fire
and Emergency New Zealand’s response to each of your requests is set out below:
Callouts
Between 1 March and 30 April 2022 Fire and Emergency attended eleven callouts at 134 Dixon
Street.
Reasons
All of these callouts are recorded as being due to false alarms.
Costs
Fire and Emergency is funded on an operational readiness basis, to be ready and able to respond
as and when its services are required. On that basis, we do not record costs to a level of detail that
apportions costs to specific incidents we have attended. This aspect of your request is declined
under section 18(e) of the Official Information Ac 1982, as the information does not exist.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
