Dear John,
Your Official Information Act 1982 request, reference OIA 21/22-0757
Thank you for your email of 9 May 2022 requesting the following under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the OIA):
“I noted these 3 positions (Māori Advisory Group, The New Zealand Lottery Grants
Board and Local Government Commission) have closed, may I ask how many
expressions of interest you have received per each positions, and how many are from
other government agencies' nomination database and how many are from the public
directly.”
In response, I can advise the following:
• Taumata Arowai Māori Advisory Group received a total of 11 expressions of interest.
One of these was received from the Minister for Māori Development and the
remaining 10 were received from the public.
• The New Zealand Lottery Grants Board received a total of 37 expressions of interest.
Four of these were received from the Ministry for Women and two from the Ministry
for Ethnic Communities (one candidate was endorsed by both the Ministry for
Women and the Ministry for Ethnic Communities). The remaining 31 were received
from the public.
• The Local Government Commission received a total of 16 expressions of interest. One
of these was received from the Ministry for Women and the remaining 15 were
received from the public.
We intend to publish our response to your request on www.dia.govt.nz. This letter, with
your personal details removed, will be published in its entirety. Publishing responses
increases the availability of information to the public and is consistent with the Act’s
purpose of enabling more effective participation in the making and administration of laws
and policies and promoting the accountability of Ministers and officials.
