I refer to your request received on 16 May 2022, which has been considered under
the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), for the following information:
Please provide the handles/user name/screen name/account name of all
accounts that the government directly and/or indirectly
remunerates/incentivises/influences/commissions/engages with on all
social media platforms, including but not limited to Twitter,
Meta/Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Please include all local and
overseas connections.
The information you have requested is not held by my Office. In circumstances such
as this, I would transfer this request to an agency or Minister that I consider likely to
hold the information. However, I do not believe that this information is held by any
single entity. Instead, I believe it is likely the details of each social media account is
held by the respective agency or Minister. Therefore, your request is refused under
section 18(g)(i) of the OIA.
You have asked “If this information is not held by your office please advise which
office and/or entity does and kindly transfer for their response.” As above, I do not
believe any single entity or office holds this information, therefore I cannot transfer
your request.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
