Extending the time to respond to your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your email of 25 May 2022 requesting the following information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
- The Privacy Impact Assessment referred to in the press release 
- Al  records of Waka Kotahi's interactions with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner 
regarding the trial 
- The Business Case for the trial 
 
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is extending the 20 working days available to us to respond to 
your request, as al owed for under section 15A of the Act. We need 10 more working days to respond 
to your request and wil  send you our response on or before 11 July 2021.  
 
We are extending the deadline as the consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are 
such that a thorough response cannot reasonably be made within the 20-working-day limit.  
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to 
extend the time we wil  take to respond to your request. You can find the contact details for the 
Ombudsman at: www.ombudsman.parliament.nz
