She is a Board Member of the Teaching Council, establishing and chairing the Inclusive Education
Advisory Group to the Board, consisting of experts in inclusive education influencing the Teaching Council
functions and responsibilities.
I can't find the current member of the Inclusive Education Advisory Group, Can you please supply the
name of current member (bio if available) of this Inclusive Education Advisory Group. Also their pay rate
or how they are get reimbursed. Ful meeting minutes since this group's establishment.
Also, do you have any other type of Advisory Group to the Board? If you do, please supply the name (bio if

follows.

The members of the Inclusive Education Advisory Group are listed below.

Please see the below fee schedule that members of al Teaching Council Advisory Groups are entitled
to, as per the fees schedule set by Cabinet. Please see section 126 in the link below.
Fees Framework for members appointed to bodies in which the Crown has an interest
FEE SCHEDULE – DAILY RATES: These rates are
inclusive of GST, if any.
Chair attendance $290 and preparation fee $36.25/hour up to $145
Member attendance $215 and preparation fee $26.88/hour up to $107.50
Preparation fees of up to 2 hours for every 4 hours of meeting time.
The daily rate is either paid by Teaching Council to the member’s institution/school/centre or company,
or to the member directly.
Members are also entitled to claim:
− Travel, if not booked by the Teaching Council,
− Accommodation,
− Meals,
− Parking,
− Private car use @ $0.79 per km, (the rate is set by IRD) where it would not be reasonable to
travel by public transport and a member uses their own vehicle.
Members must provide itemized tax receipts for al expenses claimed.

Rae (Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga/Tūhourangi/Fiji) is Director of Va'atele Education Consulting, delivering
Ministry of Education Pacific PLD projects to teachers and leaders. She is also Senior Lecturer at Te
Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, working with Māori and Pacific doctoral students. Previously, Rae
worked with teachers engaged in postgraduate study at The University of Auckland. She has been a
teacher, principal, and PLD provider in Aotearoa, Samoa, and Tonga, and is a member of ERO’s Pacific
Fautua Group, TLRI’s Advisory Board, MoE’s ESOL National Advisory Group, MPP’s Fono Faufautua, and
the Centre for Pacific Languages Board of Trustees.

Al Teaching Council Advisory Group members are entitled to the same fee and expense claim structure
as outlined in response to question 2.
