As you will see overleaf, NPDC will be notifying its Proposed District Plan on 23 September
2019. Under the Proposed District Plan, a new heritage building or item has been identified
on your property at 11/127 St Aubyn Street NEW PLYMOUTH 4310.
What does this mean?
The historical and cultural features of our district are highly valued by our community and
contribute to our local identity. The District Plan identifies and protects buildings and other
items of high heritage value. Before doing anything on your property, you should check the
Proposed District Plan to see if you need resource consent.

You can have your say on anything in the Proposed District Plan by making a submission
through the ePlan online. Submissions close at 5pm on Friday 22 November.

NOTIFICATION OF THE
PROPOSED NEW PLYMOUTH DISTRICT PLAN
In accordance with Clause 5 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act
1991, NPDC hereby notifies the Proposed District Plan on Monday
23 September 2019.
Intent of Proposed District Plan
The District Plan is the key document controlling where activities can locate in
the district and how land can be used and developed. The Proposed District
Plan addresses the key issues identified in NPDC’s Operative District Plan
review. It provides direction on what can be built and where, with provisions
that:
Provide land for housing, industry and business in the right location.
Support successful and vibrant city and town centres.
Cares for the coast and coastal communities.
Protect the natural and cultural features our communities’ value.
Where to view the Proposed District Plan
The Proposed District Plan is in digital ePlan format available online. . Search
a property address or read the full plan at:
https://districtplan.npdc.govt.nz/eplan/
Submissions Any person may make a submission on the Proposed District Plan using the
‘Make a Submission’ button in the online ePlan.
Submissions on the Proposed District Plan can be made from Monday
23 September.

The closing date for submissions is 5pm on Friday 22 November.
Once submissions close, we will summarise the submissions received and
call for further submissions in support or opposition by public notification. If
requested by any submitter, NPDC will hold a hearing on the submissions
received. Anyone who has made a formal submission will have the right to be
heard at a subsequent hearing. They will also have the right to appeal any
decision the Council makes in respect of their submission, to the Environment
Court.
