Information Request –Southland Rural Fire Centre
I refer to your official information request dated 13 June 2022 asking for the following
information:
I am requesting information on what was known as "Southland Rural Fire Centre" before the
FENZ merger. I believe this to now be based out of the rear of Kingswell Fire Station.
I would like to know a list of vehicles (their make, model, year, rego and callsign), as well as any
other relevant information about this station (i.e. how it's staffed, what equipment is in there
etc).
In accordance with the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982, I
enclose the information
you requested.
As at 19 July 2022, the following vehicles (with associated callsigns) and equipment are located at
the Kingswell Depot (Rural):
• 2005 Mitsubishi Triton 4x4 (smoke chaser unit): CTK910
• Caravan (Incident Command Point): 99KLZ
• Trailers: R2135; Z2915; Z8973; B752C; 63W69 (Used for multiple purposes)
• Two 10ft containers full of Phos-Check fire retardant
• Approximately 120 canisters of class A foam
• Portable pumps, waterway kit and variable stock of hose packs
• Assorted Hand tools
• One 15,000 litre portable dam
Please note, there is not specific staffing attached to the Kingswell Depot (Rural) and equipment is
accessed as required.
