[FYI request #19725 email]
DOIA 2223-0118
Dear Kirtika,
Thank you for your email of 16 July 2022 requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the
following information:
“What is the date of the recent allocated File for a CAM visa Application and how many other
applications are awaiting a case officer?”
Our Response
Due to the limitations of our reporting system, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) is unable to easily retrieve
backdated data as to the date of the most recently allocated Culturally Arranged Marriage visa. This
would require us to manually go back through each application allocated to an Immigration Officer
including every application that had been allocated and decided to ascertain the last one allocated.
Therefore, this part of your request is refused under Section 18(f) of the Act as the information
requested cannot be made available without substantial collation or research. This task would remove
Ministry staff from their core duties and therefore the greater public interest would not be served.
However, we can advise that as at 19 July 2022, there are 113 unallocated Culturally Arranged Marriage
visa applications awaiting allocation to Immigration Officers for assessment. The oldest unallocated
application was lodged on 19 May 2022.
I hope you find this information useful.
