Information Request – OIA 8624 – numbers of medical callouts
I refer to your official information request dated 8 August 2022. In your request, you referred to a
previous message which unfortunately we did not receive. We asked you to clarify your request
and on 10 August you clarified your request was for:
Monthly Call Outs Associated with - Chest Pains, Cardiac Arrests or any coding with heart
issues Years - 2000 - 2022, broken down into months Age Brackets - 0-10, 11-19 etc etc
Ultimately I want to see the number of call outs FENZ are attending relating to heart
issues, deaths and call outs - I now want these from the years 2000 - 2022
We emailed you on 16 August and explained that we could not provide information about the type
of medical emergency or the age of the people attended to as we do not collect that information
for the purposes of reporting it. We asked if you would consider amending your request to be for
monthly statistics about the number of medical emergencies attended, broken down by month,
from 2011. You agreed to this amendment.
In accordance with the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982, I
enclose the information
you requested. You will see that we have provided two types of data. One is for the incidents we
have been called to. The other is for the number of incidents actually attended. We hope this data
is useful for you.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
