Request for information
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 8 July 2022, in which you
requested information relating to the New Zealand Police (Police) vehicle fleet.
You requested:

Al cars and the quantity used in the Aoraki Region?
•
The number of vehicles used by each department, such as CID or Highway Patrol?
This information was sourced from the Master Fleet Register which is subject to change
daily. This can be for several reasons, such as a vehicle has reached the end of its service
and decommissioned, replaced by a new vehicle, or transferred to a different working group.
As of 19 June 2022, the total number of vehicles in the Police vehicle fleet is 3650 vehicles.
Police also lease several different types of vehicles for various roles across the organisation,
totalling 95 vehicles.
The Aoraki Region is within the Canterbury Policing District, which has a total of 313
vehicles and spread across the following work groups.
