Dear Richard
Extension of time to response to request made under the Official Information Act 1982
Thank you for your email of 19 August 2022 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
A17,000vpd reduction of traffic on the Auckland Harbour Bridge (AHB) was stated by NZTA in
November 2021 reports and now widely quoted as the reduction in traffic required to avoid wider
network impacts caused by a one lane Active Mode trial on the AHB.
Please can you therefore provide the reports that state this 17,000vpd figure and ALL
supporting documents / communications / calculations (digital / written) that were used to
determine that 17,000 vpd figure.
Please also provide any communications / documents that raised questions on the 17,000vpd
figure.
This letter is to advise that Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is extending the 20 working days
available to us to respond to your request, as allowed for under section 15A of the Act. We require an
additional 20 working days and wil send you a response on or before 17 October 2022.
The deadline is being extended because of the consultation and collation necessary to make a
decision on your request, meaning that a proper response to your request cannot reasonably be made
within the 20-working day limit.
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to
extend this request. The contact details for the Ombudsman can be located at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
If you would like to discuss extension, please email [NZTA request email].
Yours sincerely
