Transfer of Official Information Act request 22.54 Bachelor of Nursing
I refer to your Official Information Act (the Act) request dated 15 September 2022 for information relating to
the Bachelor of Nursing statistics. You have requested the fol owing:
• How many placement positions, if any, have been available to students studying Bachelor of Nursing - Māori,
Bachelor of Nursing – Pacific, and Bachelor of Nursing at your tertiary education institution annually over the
past five years?
• How many students, if any, have attained a Bachelor of Nursing - Māori, Bachelor of Nursing – Pacific, and
Bachelor of Nursing degree at your tertiary education institution annually over the past five years?
• What is the number of students, if any, who have undertaken a placement as part of a Bachelor of Nursing -
Māori, Bachelor of Nursing – Pacific, or Bachelor of Nursing degree that your tertiary education institution,
annually, over the past five years?
Whilst UC in conjunction with Ara / Te Pūkenga offers the Master of Health Sciences Professional Practice
(Nursing) programme, students enrol ed in this qualification must also be concurrently enrol ed in the Bachelor
of Nursing at Ara / Te Pūkenga.
As your request is specifical y regarding the Bachelor of Nursing and UC does not offer this qualification, this
request is being formally transferred to Ara / Te Pūkenga under s 14(b)(i) of the Act, as the requested
information is not held by UC but is believed to be held by Ara / Te Pūkenga. In these circumstances, we are
required by section 14 of the Act to transfer your request.
We have notified Ara / Te Pūkenga that UC is transferring your request to them today. They are required to
