Request under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) We refer to your information request received 22 September 2022. A copy of your request is set
out below:
“On 18/07/2022 the ORC began operating a reduced bus schedule in Dunedin due to
disruptions in driver availability resulting from illness and COVID-19.
Can you please able to provide a breakdown of staffing available during this period by date. In
the form [date], [total FTE available], [rostered staff], [number of staff on illness or COVID led].
Can you also please provide detail of any recruitment undertaken during this time including the
number of job adverts publicly listed (i.e. on Seek), the specific role advertised (i.e. bus driver),
the number of days each advert was listed (i.e. 9 days), the number of shortlisted candidates
for each advert, the number of interviews for each role, and the number of new hire.
Can you also provide the a week by week summary of the operating costs of the ORC bus
service for the last four months.“
The Otago Regional Council is responsible for implementing public transport services in Otago.
The ORC provides public passenger transport services through contracted operators in Dunedin
and Queenstown. The contracted operators are responsible for their own recruitment, rostering
and weekly budgeting.
As the information you are seeking is not held by the Otago Regional Council, we are therefore
refusing your request under section 17(g) of the LGOIMA, as the information requested is not
held by the local authority.
