Information Request – Progress with Fire and Emergency Projects
I am writing in relation to your information request dated 25 September 2022 for information
about projects that have been commenced since the formation of Fire and Emergency New
Zealand. Specifically, you have asked for the following:
1. How many projects have been started since the formation of FENZ?
a) The title of each project commenced
b) The goal of each project
c) Who was the owner of each project
d) The initial budget of each project
2. The number of projects that have been completed?
a) The title of each of these projects
b) The outcome/s of each project that has been completed
c) How did the outcome/s match the original goals
d) The difference between the initial budget and the final costs for the competed
projects
3. How many projects have been started since the formation of FENZ have been
abandoned as incomplete?
a) The titles of each project that was not completed
b) The goal of each project that was not completed
c) Who was the owner of each project that was not completed
d) The total cost of each project that was abandoned
On 30 September 2022 we emailed you to advise your request is for a very large amount of
information. However, we hoped we could work with you to amend your request. As a starting
point, we provided links to publicly available Select Committee responses. We asked that you look
at the information and let us know if this would satisfy your request. If it did not, we invited you
get back in touch.
As we have not received a response, we have made a decision to refuse your request under
section 18(f) of the Official Information Act 1982, as the information requested cannot be made
available without substantial collation or research.
Please note, if you make a refined request for some of this information in the future, we will
consider that request afresh.
