Kia ora koutou,

They have responded:

Subject: RE: Strike 4 climate - TMP

Kia ora all,

To clarify a couple of points;
WCC is not asking for any funds to supply traffic management, we do not provide temporary
traffic management (TTM) services.
We do agree that a right to protest exists & in no way inhibit the right to protest.
We do have a responsibility to ensure that these activities are undertaken in a manner that
ensures safety for all.
We have requested a traffic management plan (TMP) be provided.
This is a standard response for all protest activities
The quote is likely to have come from a TTM provider, not too sure who or for what
services.
This is a competitive industry & they may be able to find competing quotes / sponsorship
Last protest the SS4CC group arranged sponsorship to pay for TTM, this sponsorship was
withdrawn at the 11th hour & costs were covered by Council (I believe the Te Atakura team).
T&I does not have a budget to spend on this activity & we have advised the organisers of
this, both last year & this.

Cheers, Sean

Kia ora Jacqui,

Just an FYI, we have been tagged in this tweet about charging for a protest TMP:

For large protests, we are required to charge for TMP for public safety – is that right?

Ngā mihi nui,
