[FYI request #20997 email]
Dear John Luke
Thank you for your email of 31 October 2022 requesting information relating to a
reappointment to the New Zealand Walking Access Commission. Your request has been
considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).
You requested the following:
May I ask how did you call for public nomination and on what platform you have call
for public nominations, e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you
have received from the public and how many you have received from other
nominating agencies such as TPK. further, how many you have shortlisted.
I am also requesting the position description of this role and the pay rate.
The Gazette notice you referenced in your request (Gazette Notice No. MPI 1464) was for
the reappointment of a Board member. Generally, nominations are only sought when new
members are to be appointed. We therefore did not seek nominations for the reappointment.
However, nominations are currently open for two new Board member positions. The
advertisement for nominations has gone out to various government and non-governmental
agencies and has also been made available to the public. Individuals interested in applying
can also apply directly through the MPI Careers website
(https://careers.mpi.govt.nz/jobs/MPI22-1673832). The positions are also searchable via
seek.co.nz, jobs.govt.nz, Ahu, maoripacificjobs.co.nz and LinkedIn. Nominations for these
positions will close on 25 November 2022.
The Position Description for the current open positions is attached as Appendix One.
The Commission’s Board is classified as Level 5, Group 3a in the Public Service
Commission Fees Framework. As per the Framework, Board members are paid $11,200 per
annum.
I trust the information provided is of assistance. Should you have any concerns with this
response, I would encourage you to raise these with the Ministry for Primary Industries at
[email address].
