Information Request – Callouts to Naenae College 2012-2022 
 
I refer to your official information request dated 1 November 2022 seeking information about 
callouts to Naenae College.  
 
On 29 November 2022 we provided our response to your first question regarding the number of 
callouts between 2012 and 2022. At this time, we advised of an extension of time to make our 
decision on your second question. In accordance with the Official Information Act 1982, our 
response to that question is set out below. 
 
How much has this cost the school (considering most callouts would be false alarms). 
 
We have identified charges of $4,600 (GST inclusive) for false alarms in the period you are 
interested in. As noted in our previous letter, Fire and Emergency New Zealand has not charged for 
callouts since it was establishment on 1 July 2017.  
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
