Request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your emails of 4 November 2022 requesting information under the Official Information 
Act 1982 (the Act) regarding the Pito-one to Melling Cycleway. 
 
As the requests are similar in nature, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has decided to combine 
these into one response to assist with the efficient administration and processing of the request. 
 
Further to this, Waka Kotahi is extending the 20 working days available to us to respond to your 
request as allowed for under section 15A of the Act. As your request necessitates a search through a 
large quantity of information, and consultations are necessary to make a decision on the request, 
meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with our operations.  
 
We require 20 additional working days to respond to your request. In accordance with guidance from 
the Office of the Ombudsman, the period from 25 December 2022 to 15 January 2023 are not 
considered working days. Waka Kotahi wil  therefore respond to your request on or before 20 January 
2023. 
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to
