&reserved=0 May I ask how did you call for public nomination and on what platform you have
call for public nominations, e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have
received from the public and how many you have received from other nominating agencies such
as TPK or ministry of women.”
Your request has been considered under the Act.
As there have been two Electrical Workers Registration Board advertisements recently, we will provide
information to you on both for clarity.
The first recruitment round was for two positions and was open from 21 September 2022 to 21 October
2022. MBIE called for public nominations through the following:
• an invitation from the Minister to her Caucus colleagues to provide nominations
• advertising on the MBIE careers website, Seek and jobs.govt.nz website
• requesting nominations from the Ministry of Women, Ministry of Ethnic Communities, Ministry
for Pacific Peoples, Ministry for Disabled Peoples, and Te Puni Kokiri
• circulation of the advert through the Electron newsletter, an electrical industry publication
We have received 23 applications from this recruitment round. The Ministry of Women forwarded the
role onto two nominees, however, neither of them chose to apply. The Ministry for Ethnic Communities
nominated one candidate for the role. No other candidates were from nominating agencies.
The second recruitment round was for one position and was open from 4 November 2022 to 28
November 2022. MBIE called for public nominations through the following:
Labour, Science and Enterprise

We have received eight applications for this role. All were received from the general public, with none
being received from nomination agencies.
I trust you find the information helpful.
