MBIE publishes information relating to all licenced radio transmitters on the New Zealand Register of Radio
Frequencies database, which is located at rrf.rsm.govt.nz. By following the “Search Licenses” tab you will
be directed to a page where you can refine your search by Location or District. A map will then be displayed,
showing the location of cell towers. After selecting a tower, a popup window should appear on the map.
Following the “License Id” link on this popup window will redirect you to another page which displays the
frequencies this tower is licensed to transmit in, and also the power measured in dBW. Power (dBW)
correlates to the maximum radiofrequency (RF) radiation licenced at a site.
As this information is publicly available, MBIE is refusing this part of your request under section 18(d) of
the Act.
