Zealand (WorkSafe), requesting the following information:

Please could I request all compliance certificates for pyrotechnic displays held in 
Queenstown, South Island for November and December 2022 and January 2023. 
 
Please accept my apology for the delay in our response. I understand that there was an 
administrative error whereby WorkSafe did not receive your original request. In respect of your 
request, this has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). 
 
Please find attached a copy of the requested information. Some information (contact information 
and employee names not publicly known) has been withheld from the certificates being released, 
pursuant to section 9(2)(a) of the OIA, to protect the privacy of natural persons. As per section 
9(1) of the OIA, I do not consider that, in the circumstances of this case, the withholding of this 
information is outweighed by other considerations which render it desirable in the public interest to 
make the information available. 
 
You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(3) of the OIA, to request an 
investigation and review of WorkSafe’s decision to withhold information by the Ombudsman.
