Dear Ziyun,
Thank you for your email of 24 January 2023 requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act), the following information:
I am writing to kindly seek the below updated information associated with Accreditation, Job
Check and Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) applications:
1. How many applications (Accreditation, Job Check, AEWV) that INZ has received thus far?
2. How many applications (Accreditation, Job Check, AEWV) have been approved thus far?
3. How many applications (Accreditation, Job Check, AEWV) have been declined thus far?
4. What are the top industries hiring migrants under AEWVs?
5. A) How long is the processing time for each stage and
B) the reasons for the increased processing time for each stage if applicable?
Our Response
Questions One, Two and Three: The information requested is presented in
Table One of the
Appendix.
Question Four: The information requested in presented in
Table Two of the
Appendix.
Question Five A: The request for information related to the processing times is refused under section 18(d)
of the Act as the information requested is publicly available on the following link:
https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/waiting-for-a-visa/how-long-it-takes-to-process-
your-visa-application. Question Five B: Delays in processing tend to be due to missing information which needs to be provided
by the applicant. Immigration New Zealand is taking a pragmatic approach to processing applications
across the three Accredited Employer Work Visa gateways and continues to review and refine processes
to improve timeliness and the customer experience.
I hope you find this information helpful. You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the
Ombudsman of the Ministry’s response to your request, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act.
Information about how to make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone

If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request or this response, please contact

Yours sincerely,
Jeannie Melville
