[FYI request #21802 email]
Dear Mehak,
Thank you for your email of 11 February 2023 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
(MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information:
“I understand that auditors are to be added to the straight to residence visas soon.
Could you please clarify when can we expect for something to be announced?”
Your request has been considered under the Act.
I would like to refer you to “Major expansion of Green List to help fill labour shortages” document,
which was proactively released on the Beehive website on 12 December 2022:
https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/major-expansion-green-list-help-fill-labour-shortages
For the roles that the Government has decided to add to the Green List, MBIE is currently working
through the details of how an applicant will qualify for the residence pathway. Announcements will
depend on the Minister’s decisions, but we are expecting further details in April 2023 with changes
implemented as soon as possible.
I trust you will find this information useful.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision, in
accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
Melanee Beatson
