To establish the Election Access Fund Applications Panel, a call for expressions of interest was posted
on the Electoral Commission’s website and emailed out to our database of disabled people’s
organisations and other stakeholder groups.
We received nine expressions of interest from individuals seeking to be panel members. No
nominations were received from agencies.
The nine expressions of interest were assessed against the criteria listed in the expression of interest
document. The Commission selected three individuals, with assistance from an external disability
expert. To ensure there was Tikanga Māori expertise on the panel we contacted Iwi and Māori
disability organisations to seek interest. No responses were received. We then approached and
appointed an individual who had been recommended to us and who met the criteria.
The current members of the Application Panel are:
• Dianne Glenn (Chair)
• Jade Farrar
• Huhana Hickey
• Robbie Watene
