Thank you for your email of 21 February 2023 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment 
(MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information: 
 
“1:-Total Count of EOIs currently in the Parents residency visa queued pool. If you can provide the 
count of persons that will be great too as 1 EOI can have more than 1 applicant 
2:- The count of ITAs issued part of the parent EOI selection done on Feb 14, 2023 
3:-Count of EOIs which were submitted before 15 September 2018 and are still in the queued pool 
(not selected from the pool ) . If you can provide the count of persons that will be great too” 
 
Our response 
1)  As at 13 March 2023, there were 4,461 Parent Resident visa expressions of interest (EOI) in the pool, 
representing  a total of 6,971 applicants.  
2)  There were 640 EOIs selected on 14 February 2023 that have been invited to apply for residence under 
the parent category. These applications include a total of 1,006 applicants. 
3)  As at 13 March 2023, a total of 2,464 parent resident visa EOIs, submitted before 15 September 2018, 
remain in the pool. These applications represent a total of 4,021 applicants.
