Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982, dated 2 March 2023, for
a copy of the notice and correspondence from the Minister for the Environment to the Chief
Executive of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) advising the Board Chair was
being removed under section 36(2) of the Crown Entities Act 2004.
We have transferred parts 1 and 2 of your request to the Office of Hon David Parker, as we
believe this request is more closely connected with the functions of the Minister for the
Environment.
In part 3 of your request you asked for information on steps taken by the Chief Executive to
make sure all EPA staff were aware of the decision before it became public. The Chief
Executive sent an email to all EPA staff at 1.52pm on 2 March 2023, advising Mr Campbell
had been removed from his role as Chair and Board member.
