requesting the following information:

Could I please have all reports and 'Summary of Evidence' for all speedway accidents, 
injuries, and deaths. 
 
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). 
 
Please find attached documentation in response to your request. We have identified two reports in 
the scope of your request which are being released to you in part. Some information is being 
withheld under the following sections of the OIA: 
 
• 
9(2)(a), to protect the privacy of natural persons, including that of deceased natural 
persons; and 
• 
9(2)(g)(i), to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the free and frank 
expression of opinions by or between or to Ministers of the Crown or members of an 
organisation or officers and employees of any public service agency or organisation in the 
course of their duty. 
 
As per section 9(1) of the OIA, I do not consider that, in the circumstances of this request, the 
withholding of information under the section 9 withholding grounds referred to above is 
outweighed by other considerations which render it desirable in the public interest to make the 
information available. 
 
You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(3) of the OIA, to request an 
investigation and review of WorkSafe’s decision to withhold information by the Ombudsman.
