Thank you for your email on 14 August 2023, asking for the following under the Official Information 
Act 1982 (the Act):  
“1. Could i please have the total numbers of covid 19 publicly funded hospital discharges by 
year and month of admission, 2018-2024”     
Please see appendix 1 attached showing a monthly total of the number of people discharged from 
hospital, for the period 01/01/2020 to 31/07/2023, who were admitted via one of the following two 
scenarios:  
1. They were admitted to hospital with COVID-19, but COVID-19 was not part of why they
were hospitalised or
2. COVID-19 was part of the reason for their hospitalisation.
Please note the first COVID-19 related hospitalization occurred in January 2020.
