request all notes, files, electronic or otherwise, all names and phone numbers, addresses
and company names, of any individual or company that has had any involvement in my
property in the past 3 years”
We have processed your request in accordance with the Of icial Information Act 1982 and the
Privacy Act 2020.
The Electricity Authority
The Electricity Authority (the Authority) is the regulator of the electricity industry, which includes
industry participants such as electricity generators, distributors, and retailers.
The Authority’s main objective is to promote competition in, reliable supply by, and the efficient
operation of, the electricity industry for the long-term benefit of consumers.
The Authority also has an additional objective to protect the interests of domestic consumers and
small business consumers in relation to the supply of electricity to those consumers.
Privacy Act Request for Information
The Authority does hold a small amount of personal information about you (information about your
property) and wil provide this to you in a document without charge. We wil require proof of your
identity before providing it to you.
The reason for this is the Authority is required b
y section 57 of the Privacy Act 2020 to satisfy itself
of the identity of the requester before releasing the information.

Note that your electricity retailer will likely hold this personal information and if you request the
information from them the identification process may be easier given you already have a
relationship with them.

In relation to your request for the names, phone numbers and addresses of companies that have
had involvement in your property in the past 3 years our records show the following:

The Authority does not hold the names of individuals connected to the above companies and your
request for this information is accordingly declined on the basis of section 18(g) of the Official
Information Act (Information not held). We have assumed you are seeking the names of individuals
involved in your property specifically, rather than individuals who are involved in reviewing blocks
of property information e.g. for the purposes of the Authority’s general monitoring function referred
to above. If this is incorrect, please contact us.
