Request for information – Companies Office employees 
 
1. 
I refer to your request of 20 March 2023, seeking information from the Ministry of Business, 
Innovation and Employment (MBIE) pursuant to the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA). 
 
2. 
You requested (verbatim): 
“Please provide a list of all the members in the companies office. I would like their name, address 
(work address), title, phone number and email address” 
 
3. 
Your request is refused pursuant to section 9(2)(g)(ii) of the OIA on the grounds that the 
withholding of the information is necessary to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs 
through the protection of Ministers of the Crown or members of an organisation or officers and 
employees of any public service agency or organisation from improper pressure or harassment.

I am satisfied, in terms of section  9(1) of the OIA that, in the circumstances of this case, the 
withholding of information is not outweighed by other considerations which render it desirable in 
the public interest to make the information available.

You have a right under section 28(3) of the OIA to seek an investigation into this response by the
