I refer to the Official Information Act request dated 28 March 2023 for information relating to the Master of 
Audiology Admission Statistics. You have requested the fol owing: 
Please provide the fol owing information related to admission into the Master of Audiology program for 2021 
to 2023 entry. 
 
General Category 
(1) Number of General seats available each year, 
(2) Number of General seats fil ed each year, 
(3) Number of General applicants, 
(4) Lowest GPA for successful General applicants, 
(5) Lower Quartile GPA for successful General applicants, 
(6) Median GPA for successful General applicants, 
(7) Upper Quartile GPA for successful General applicants, 
(8) Highest GPA for unsuccessful General applicants, 
(9) Lowest successful first round offer GPA (under the general category only), 
(10) Lowest successful waitlist GPA (under the general category only) 
 
Please see attached the data as per your request. Please note that the Grade Point Average (GPA) is defined in 
the Regulations in the University of Canterbury 2023 Maramataka I Calendar Glossary here. The GPA in this 
context a student’s undergraduate GPA. How a GPA is calculated is noted here.   
 
Please note that data relating to questions 4, 8, 9 and 10 is withheld, as they relate to an individual. This is to 
protect the individual’s privacy under s 9(2)(a) of the Act. It is in the public interest that individuals are not 
identifiable when providing information about a course. The public interest is served by providing information 
about students in such courses in aggregate form where an individual is not easily identifiable.
