Thank you for your Official Information Act (the Act) request of 3 April 2023.
You have asked for:
• A list of documents and correspondence between the National Library of New
Zealand and the Internet Archive, based in the United States, relating to the export of
books from the Overseas Collections. – including the Export Agreement itself;
• A list of the correspondence prior to and after the Agreement was made, and any
correspondence regarding amendments to the Agreement made after the "pause" by
the National Library to the Agreement, and;
• A summary of the current status of all agreements made between the National
Library and the Internet Archive in the last six years;
• The list should state the date of the letter/Agreement and a brief statement of the
content.
In response to parts one and two of the request, I am providing you with a
List of
correspondence between the National Library of New Zealand and the Internet Archive, from
January 2020-March 2023.
In response to parts three and four I am providing you with a list of
Agreements made
between the National Library of New Zealand and the Internet Archive between 2017-2021.
The lists are noted in
Appendix A and provided as attachments with this letter.
