, you contacted Stats NZ requesting, under the Official Information Act
1982 (the Act), the fol owing information:

May I ask how did you call for public nomination and on what platform you have
cal for public nominations, e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications
you have received from the public and how many you have received from other
nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc. further, how many
you have shortlisted.
Please supply the pay rate and term of reference/job description of this role.
On 15 March 2023, Stats NZ cal ed for expressions of interest for joining the Data Ethics
Advisory Group (DEAG).
The expressions of interest were advertised publicly on the data.govt.nz website and also
went to the fol owing nomination services:
• Ministry for Women’s Nominations Service
• Te Puni Kokiri Te Pae Ārahi – Nominations Service
• Ministry of Pacific Peoples Nominations Service
• Ministry for Ethnic Communities Nominations Service
• Of ice for Disability Issues Nominations Service
Stats NZ received 34 expressions of interest, and at the time of your request is currently
in the process of shortlisting these candidates. Because applicants could submit their
expression of interest directly to the Secretariat, and there was no requirement to identify
where they saw the advert, we are unable to differentiate between how many applicants
were received from the public or nominating agencies. Therefore this section of your

request is refused under section 18(e) of the Act as this information does not exist or,
despite reasonable efforts to locate it, cannot be found.
In terms of your request for the pay rate and term of reference/job description. This part
of your request is refused under section 18(d) of the Act on the basis that the information
