Thank you for your email of 9 April 2023 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE),
requesting under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information:
“I am writing to inquire if examples of bona fides assessments or any training materials regarding
how Immigration Officers assess bona fides criteria specific to student visa applications, visitor visa
applications and accredited work visa applications in the Immigration New Zealand staff toolkit can
be provided.”

Please find attached Appendix 1 with training material which is in scope of your request. We are
withholding some information under section 9(2)(a) to protect privacy of individuals and the case studies
have not been included due to them containing private information.
