Thank you for your request made under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings 
Act 1987 (the Act), received on 19 May 2023. Part of your request was responded to on 19 June 
2023, advising that the Council would need time to prepare the release of our waterfront hazards 
register which is part of our Health and Safety register.   
 
Please see the attached spreadsheet for the Council’s Health and Safety register on the waterfront. 
Please note: 
1)There are some incidents/injuries/near misses and fatalities that happen on the 
waterfront, where members of the public/other agencies decided not to report to Council. 
Only incidents/injuries/near misses and fatalities that required Council engagement is 
logged into our risk manager system. 
2) Some information has been withheld under section 7(2)(a) of the Local Government 
Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 to protect the privacy of individuals. 
3) Data was extracted on 16 May 2023 includes incident/injuries/near misses and fatalities 
extracted from our Health and Safety system from January 2014 to May 2023. 
 
On reviewing the register, the Council did find two events with fal s (1m or greater) that was notified 
to Worksafe.  Details have been noted in the spreadsheet for your reference. 
 
Right of review 
If you are not satisfied with the Council’s response, you may request the Office of the Ombudsman 
to investigate the Council’s decision. Further information is available on the Ombudsman website,
